Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on March 26th, 2020, said that stern actions will be initiated against those misbehaving with doctors and other essential service workers.
This comes after woes of the medical personnel surfacing on social media platforms. Sonowal said that the healthcare workers are the warriors of today and appealed the citizens to support them.
The landlords are threatening to evict them fearing coronavirus infection.
The Chief Minister said in these difficult circumstances, people should encourage the medical workers.
“Our doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers and various departments are doing excellent work to prevent coronavirus outbreak and keep our state healthy. I commended them for their exceptional efforts in this trying times,” Sonowal tweeted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 25th, 2020, warned of tough action against those misbehaving with people on the frontline of the fight against the coronavirus.
The essential services and commodities are exempted from the lockdown by the government.
