Assam CM Says Violation Of Lockdown Unfortunate, Urges People To Stay At Home

After sporadic incidents of lockdown violation reported in Assam, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on March 27th, 2020, while terming it unfortunate urged the people to stay at home.

Appealing the people restrain from stepping out of home, the CM said that the government will ensure the availability of the essential commodities.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s clarion call against COVID-19 must be followed by all as a national duty,” Sonowal tweeted.

Saying that the state government has been relentlessly working for the safety and security of the people, Sonowal urged the people not to create panic by misinterpreting facts and views amid this coronavirus crisis.

CM Sonowal urged the people of the state to follow the guidelines issued by the Central government.

Coronavirus has infected 753 people and claimed 20 lives so far in India. Fortunately, Assam has not registered any case till date. But, neighbouring states – Mizoram and Manipur reported one case each.
