Arvind Kejriwal will take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi for the third consecutive term on February 16 at Ramlila Maidan. Kejriwal will be sworn in along with his team of ministers.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) swept the Delhi assembly elections by winning 62 out 70 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party won eight seats while the Congress drew a blank.
The swearing-in ceremony at the Ramlila Maidan also assumes great significance as it was from this ground that he along with veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare led a massive anti-corruption agitation. Kejriwal has taken oath as the chief minister twice before at the same venue.
Kejriwal met Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on February 12th, 2020 to stake claim to form the government.
As per procedure, Kejriwal will tender his resignation head of taking the oath to pave the way for his fresh swearing-in as the Chief Minister. The swearing-in ceremony will start from 10 am.
While addressing a press conference, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said, “Everyone in Delhi is invited to come and bless their son, their brother, Arvind Kejriwal.”
As per reports, the new AAP government in Delhi will not have any new faces as the party has decided to retain all ministers from the previous government. However, there is also a buzz that
Raghav Chadha will be made the Finance Minister and Atishi will be allocated the Education portfolio, in Kejriwal’s new cabinet.
