Amidst Lockdown, Burglars Break Into Bank And Steal Computers In Nagaon

The police are currently investigating the issue and assessment of the property stolen is being made


Amidst the ongoing curfew and lockdown due to the ongoing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, burglars broke into the Assam Gramin Vikash Bank in Nagaon Chalchali and stole several computer systems.

As per officials, the crime took place around midnight and the persons who allegedly have committed the burglary broke into the bank through the window of the bank stealing several computer systems which allegedly had the data of the bank customers as well as transaction details.

However, the burglar or thief did not touch the vault of the bank and hence no money was reported to be stolen but several other property related to the bank were taken away. The assessment is still being made by the authorities.

It has further been alleged that there were no security arrangements in the bank and there were no CCTV cameras installed.
