    After 17 Years, New Committee Of Guwahati Press Club Formed

    A total of 816 scribes exercised their franchise in the elections held on March 12th, 2020

    After a long gap of 17 years, a new committee of the Guwahati Press Club has been formed on March 12th, 2020.

    Manoj Kumar Nath, a senior journalist and news editor of Assamese daily Niyomiya Barta, has been elected as the president of the new committee while Dhaniram Kalita has been elected as the vice president of the body and Mousumi Sarma Baruah has been elected for the post of vice president reserved for women.

    Sanjoy Ray of the reputed English daily The Assam Tribune has been elected as the General Secretary while Manindra Deka won the post of Assistant General Secretary and Manisha Kalita of DY 365, a local TV channel, won the post of AGS Reserved for Women.

    The post of Treasurer went to Nayan Pratim Kumar and post of cultural secretary went to Pallabi Bora while Raju Baruah of News18 Assam Northeast won as Organisational secretary and Dhiraj Hazarika of DY365 won as Sports Secretary.

    A total of 816 scribes exercised their franchise in the elections held on March 12th, 2020. 36 candidates were in the fray in the elections.
