Internationally acclaimed and national award-winning actor, Adil Hussain has fallen in love with Rima Das’s latest directorial Bulbul Can Sing which is making the right waves at the film festivals across the globe.
Adil, who hails from Goalpara district of Assam, took to micro-blogging site Twitter and hailed the national award-winning filmmaker and said that a mere film becomes art when it generates empathy amongst the viewers. Adil also referred Rima as #OneWomanArmy.
“Watched #BulbulCanSing directed by the #OneWomanArmy @rimadasFilm yesterday at the Unique @jagranfilmfest in New Delhi. Your film Rima made me fell in love with all the Characters, Landscapes, Sounds, Customs. A mere film becomes Art when it Generate Deep Empathy amongst viewers,” the Maj Rati Keteki actor wrote.
To this, Rima thanked Life of Pi fame Adil and shared she will continue to make films which will touch people’s hearts. “Thank you @_AdilHussain this means a lot, especially coming from you. I hope to make more and more films like this and continue to touch people’s hearts,” Rima tweeted.
t may be mentioned, Bulbul Can Sing has been announced as the opening night film for the 2019 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in Australia which will kickstart on August 8th, 2019 in Victoria, Australia. Rima’s film will be presented by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is the festival’s chief guest.
The film revolves around Bulbul, a teenage school-going girl, growing up in a rural setting in Assam, falls in love. While she is on the verge of discovering her teen life, a tragedy strikes with her best friend. Bulbul begins to question herself and her love life.
The film is set in rural Assam and the cast of the movie includes Pakija Begam, Arnali Das, Manoranjan Das, Bonita Thakuriya and Manabendra Das. The role of Bulbul is played by Arnali.
