A 65-year-old pilgrim from Hojai district’s Lumding area has gone missing in the city of the religious hub, Allahabad during a pilgrimage tour with his wife. The old man identified as Narayan Paul is missing since October 14th, 2019.
As per reports, a pilgrimage group from the district had embarked on a week-long journey to the city and took shelter at Bharat Sevashram Sangha.
According to the family, on October 16th, 2019 Paul went for his mother’s ‘Pind Daan’ (a Hindu ritual to offer prayers to the departed soul for its peace and salvation) with his wife. After completion of the ritual both the husband and wife returned back to the ashram. At about 3 pm Paul went for a walk towards the main gate of their stay and disappeared.
The incident came to light after Paul did not return his room till late evening and the panic-stricken wife raised a hue and cry started to look for the man. After the ashram authorities could not locate him they reported the incident to the police.
Post the incident, Paul’s family sought help from the Allahabad police and pasted missing posters across the city.

It may be mentioned that Allahabad, the major pilgrimage destination is the place where the Hindus prefer to flow the dead remains for the journey to the ethereal abode.
