35 Days Of Official Holidays For Assam Govt Employees

The Assam government employees will now enjoy 35 days of official holidays and 31 days of restricted holidays in 2020. The important decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held in Guwahati on November 19th, 2019.

Speaking to media, Assam parliamentary affairs minister Chandra Mohan Patwary said, “Cane and bamboo farmers will get 50 per cent subsidy. Bamboo farmers to get Rs 2.40 per sapling under the Assam Bamboo and Cane Policy.”

The Cabinet also directed the government offices, factories and industries to make sanitary napkins available for women employees. The Cabinet also adopted several policies to boost the gip and goat breeding in the state.

The Assam Cabinet on October 21st, 2019 decided that no government jobs will be given to persons having more than two children after January 1, 2021. The Cabinet also adopted a New Land Policy, which will give three bighas of agricultural land to landless indigenous people and half a bigha for constructing a house.
