    17-Year-Old Girl Trafficked From Duliajan Rescued In New Delhi, Two Held

    Dibrugarh: The Duliajan police on July 25th, 2019 rescued a 17-year-old girl from the clutches of two women human traffickers in New Delhi. The girl was missing from the last 3 months.

    The two accused women have been identified as Geeta Gowalla, a resident of Tinsukia district and Rupa Magar hailing from Udalguri district of Assam.

    As per reports, the two accused women took the girl to New Delhi 3 months back on the pretext of giving her a profitable job and since then, she lost contact with her family. On July 14th, 2019, the victim girl somehow managed to contact her father and shared her ordeal.

    Later, on July 16th, 2019 the father lodged an FIR at the Duliajan police station under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 322/2019 and based on the FIR the police started a manhunt, as per reports.

    On July 25th, 2019 the Duliajan police acting on a tip-off successfully nabbed the duo from Shiv Vihar area of New Delhi and rescued the girl.

    Currently, the accused women have been brought to the Duliajan police station and an investigation is going on.

    Meanwhile, the locals are demanding quick action against the culprits.
