13 Persons From Assam Test COVID-19 Positive In Delhi

As many as 13 persons from Assam have tested positive for the highly contagious novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in New Delhi.

The total number of COVID-19 positive patients from Assam put under quarantine has surged to 13 on April 30th, 2020 from 10 detected on April 29th, 2020

It may be mentioned that a CRPF Sub-Inspector Ikram Hussain, hailing from Barpeta district of the State, had died of the COVID-19 infection on April 29th, 2020 in New Delhi.

Among the 13 COVID-19 positive cases, two are cancer patients who had visited Delhi for treatment.

Seven CRPF jawans of the 31 Battalion based in the Mayur Vihar camp – all hailing from Assam – have also tested positive and put under quarantine in the national capital.

A couple from Bokakhat – Ajit Saikia and wife Banti Saikia – who had visited Delhi for treatment was also detected COVID-19 positive and undergoing treatment.
